Mercy, compassion, tenderness. This is what the world most needs. Peace is not possible without this. Oneness is not either. Mercy is the medicine for humanity in these divisive times, especially when we are not extending it to ourselves.

Let the dehumanizing stop, and the division melt away. Within the collective and within ourselves. Life is full of experiences that cause the heart to harden, to close over, and to shut off in an effort to protect or avoid. However, this hardening prevents us from receiving the joy, peace, and love that we most long for in need. Mercy, compassion, and tenderness can soften what has been hardened and melt what has been frozen over. It opens every door that has been closed.

So often we keep score, but no one wins that game. When we are hurt it is easy to shame and blame. When we have been harmed it is a natural reflex to fight back. If we are truly connected, then we know that what is done to one is done to many. What if we were all able to focus on doing our best in this thing called life? Are you or someone in your life hungry for mercy? How can you be more open to receive it? How can you offer it?
